Chocolate can be fatal!!

Please remember that chocolate is highly toxic to dogs and cats.

Theobromine is the active product causing toxicity. It is found in chocolate and cocoa powder derived from roasted seeds of the plant Theobroma caucao.

Several deaths have been reported and one dog that the practice treated 2 years ago had to have a blood transfusion.

Please be EXTREMELY careful and DO NOT leave boxes, tins or packets of chocolate lying around the house – dogs will readily tear open sealed chocolate boxes.

If your pet ingests any chocolate AT ALL, however small a quantity, please immediately contact your vet.

Bones and Bins

Please wrap bones VERY CAREFULLY and place them inside a SECURE bin. Be ever aware that dogs will turn bins over and cats will tear bin bags to get at bones. Poultry bones and cooked lamb bones are especially dangerous as they splinter when eaten and may cause intestinal damage.
